Top tips

Tip 1

Help your team to understand who to look for
Explain the markers of quality candidates who are most likely to be hired:

  • Experience of caring for a loved one

  • Identified by an existing carer as being a great fit for a role in care

  • Caring values and looking for a job with purpose

How to action
Send one of our NEW template notifications to help your team understand what to look for and that 1-2-1 sharing will deliver the highest rewards.

Tip 2

Give guidance and support to staff to enlist help from others in their social group to find more high quality candidates.

How to action

Add the below content to job shares to extend your network

“Maybe this isn’t for you, but please could you share it with other friends to help us grow the care workforce and support more people in our local community?

We need more amazing people who have one or more of these qualities:

•Family care experience

•Caring values

•Need flexible local work

•Looking for a career change to something more rewarding”

Tip 3

Focus your next leaderboard competition on successful interviews

  • Make your competition timebound, allowing enough time to process candidates + maintain staff interest

  • Process candidates quickly to keep your leaderboard up to date

  • Spread the word about your competition and share weekly updates at team meetings, training, supervisions as well as usual staff communication methods. A simple smartphone video from an influential senior manager will have the highest impact.

  • Increase the likelihood of staff taking part by offering multiple prizes of different values to create a feeling there is a higher chance of winning.

  • Create some healthy competition between teams by giving prizes based on site performance.

How to action

  • Filter your leaderboard to identify who has referred the most candidates who have been successful at interview in a specific time period
